Uncover the untainted beauty of the moroccan desert
The south of Morocco is the doorway that leads to Sahara Desert. In the centre of huge stretches of sand, discover a world of dunes, sunshine and tranquilly. Venture out there and experience the lifestyle of the nomadic tribes of the Sahara on your own.
Marrakech and Agadir both lead to Sahara, and so is Fez. From the imperial city, traverse the Talghemt pass. On the road to the desert, the terrain is covered with oases: it is the Tafilalet, a transitional region where the greens of the vegetation almost melt with the ochre of the sands. Following the track of the old caravans, you reach Rissani, the cradle of the ancient Alaouite dynasty. You’ve just come to the desert: dunes with their delicate curves sculpted by the Saharan wind “The Chergui”.
Go on an adventure riding a camel. Forget for a while the bustle of the city and set up a bivouac in the middle of the sands in comfy tents! Join the spectacular dunes of Merzouga: soak up in the magical ambiance and treat yourself with a sand bath in the centre of an eye-popping scene. Spend the night on the site: in the morning, the sun rises over the dunes making a stunning panorama.
When you think it’s finished, there are still many fantastic sites to lean back and admire: the dune of Tinfou, special since it is far from the desert! The oasis of Erfoud likewise, and the enigmatic Errachidia.
On foot or on camelback, get ready to walk into the desert and isolate yourself from regular life!
